On 1st September 2025 our new website went live.
The project involved talking to and assessing our audiences and what they needed from a site. We also consulted with our Resident Readership Panel looking at functionality, clarity and specific areas. It was clear that we needed more resident-focused content allowing users to request a repair, log a complaint, upload supporting pictures or leave us compliments and suggestions. It also needed to provide more help and support. All of this has been placed in the same area so residents can find the information they need easily and quickly. Additionally, we've added an area highlighting our hire spaces and made it easier to send us an enquiry for a business meeting, conference or special occasion.
Working with the developer team at Made Simple Media, they understood our brief and needs resulting in a site that is brighter, clearer, easier to navigate and all round has a smoother UX (user experience). Another element that has brought the village to life is the use of drone footage.
Even in bad weather, Whiteley Village is picturesque with its 200 acres of woodland with a lake, church and the unique architecture and design features adorning the cottages and Grade II Listed buildings. That's why we chose to work with K D Drones who specialise in aerial and low level footage. Skimming across the lake just inches above the water, over the fountain and into the woods in one seamless shot captures just one of the areas that makes the village such a beautiful place to live. They also used a POV (point of view) drone to get into the smallest corners of some of the interiors like St Mark's Church, the Community Café and Village Hall.
We are constantly updating the site with new content, events, Café news and stories so check back often and please share a link of the site with your network.
K D Drones spent the day with us on site to capture the landscape, buildings and interiors around the village.
Consulting with our Resident Readership Panel helped us to deliver a website that meets the needs of residents providing them with the information and support they need most.
