All the fun of the fair!
Community spirit was on full display on Saturday 11th July as Whiteley Village hosted its annual Summer Fair. Drawing an enthusiastic crowd of between 400 and 500 people it attracted families, friends and visitors from across the surrounding Surrey region who gathered to enjoy a sun-drenched day filled with entertainment, live music and family-friendly activities.
Inside the Village Hall, unique stalls showcased artisanal crafts, homemade treats and local goods whilst spilling out on to The Green and winding towards the Village Shop, more stalls offered freshly grown produce and games alongside vehicle displays. The bustling event was made possible through the dedication of our dedicated volunteers, teams, residents and with generous support from local sponsors. Together, they transformed the historic grounds into a vibrant festival hub, creating an unforgettable day out for visitors of all ages.
Adding to the day's excitement was a highly anticipated visit from the Surrey MG Classic Car Club, an emergency fire engine from Surrey Fire and Rescue and tractors from the Whiteley Estates Team that youngsters could sit in. At the back of the Community Café and surrounding areas visitors were treated to a barbeque and Pimm’s Bar. On the terrace, entertainment came from popular local performers Yazmin and Terry who delivered a captivating set of songs followed by the Chessington Guitar and Uke Band who played some well-known favourites. Feedback was very positive and some stallholders have already expressed an interest to come back next year.
