Property Maintenance & Repairs

When you identify a repair, please let us know as soon as possible. The quickest way of logging a non-urgent repair is to email us at: repairs@whiteleyvillage.org.uk

You can also telephone 01932 825825. Once we receive your request, we will aim to complete the repair within the following timescales:

  • Routine repairs (joinery repairs such as kitchen units, dripping taps, fencing) within 28 days
  • Urgent – for example slow containable leaks, partial property electrical failure, faulty showers, within 7 days
  • Emergencies – for example uncontainable leaks, complete power failure, complete loss of heating (October – April only) within 24 hours

Housing and Support

The Housing and Support Team offer a range of resources and support, giving residents as much help as they can so they can enjoy village life and live as independently as possible.

As well as attending one of the regular drop-in sessions, residents can contact the Housing and Support Team by calling (01932) 825844 during office hours or emailing: housing@whiteleyvillage.org.uk. You can contact them yourself or on behalf of a neighbour. These are the areas where the team may be able to help you:

  • Benefits information
  • Welfare support
  • Resident engagement

Additionally, there is a call back request function on the 'I'm OK' system that is installed in cottages. (as long as you have the system activated).

Damp, Mould and Condensation

We understand that damp or mould in your home can affect your health and wellbeing, and we take all reports seriously.

If you see any damp or mould in your home please let us know by calling 01932 825825 or emailing repairs@whiteleyvillage.org.uk. We will work with you to resolve any issues as soon as possible. Initially one of our Property team will visit and try and identify the cause and agree the next steps. In some cases, we will ask a surveyor to carry out a damp survey to confirm the cause and recommend how it can be resolved.

We will carry out any works needed (such as repairing leaks or fitting extractor fans) within a reasonable timescale and keep you informed of the progress of the works. There may also be changes that you can make to reduce condensation and mould such as opening windows when you are cooking or bathing, using your extractor fans or not drying washing directly on radiators. We will work with you to help you make these changes.

Community Services

The Community Team focus on community, engagement and participation in the village. There are a variety of events and spaces that residents can enjoy and it is the Community Team who ensure as many people have access to these as possible.

This plays a vital part in improving mental and physical health, strengthening the community and it creates a cohesive, harmonious place for everyone to live in. Some of these opportunities for residents include:

  • Founder's Day and the cup presentation
  • Swimming pool
  • Volunteering
  • Seasonal and promotional events and activities throughout the year
